Payment is expected for services at the time they are rendered. Our office accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
As a courtesy to you, we will submit an insurance claim form to your insurance company. However, we have found that there is often confusion regarding insurance coverage. To avoid confusion, please be aware of the following:
You are responsible for your child’s bills. You must understand that the responsible party/parent is directly responsible for payment of our fees. Insurance is a contract between you and your insurance carrier to help you pay for the services. It is not a contract between you and our office.
Know your insurance. We accept most dental insurance plans but may not be a preferred provider with your particular plan. It is your responsibility to determine if your plan allows your child to see an out-of-network dentist. Any deductible and estimated patient portion for all covered and non-covered services is due as services are rendered. Please understand that we do our best in providing estimates based on your insurance benefits. Estimates are never a guarantee of payment by your insurance.
Do Not Expect 100% Coverage. Insurance companies rarely pay 100% of the charges incurred regardless if you are with an in-network or out-of-network provider. Most carriers pay 80% or less of their allowable fees which are often subject to a deductible. Also, please note that most carriers use their own fee schedule. This means that they will pay a percentage of their own set fees, not a percentage of our fees.
Dental Insurance
Our office accepts most PPO plans. We do not accept HMO plans. If you do have an HMO plan and would like to be seen at our office, you can request a referral from your child’s assigned general dentist. Our office is a Denti-Cal provider but we are not accepting new patients.
We are preferred providers (“in-network”) with the following PPO plans:
Aetna, Ameritas/Security Health, Anthem Blue Cross, Assurant/Dental Health Alliance, Cigna, Delta Dental Premier & PPO, Dental Benefit Providers, Dentemax/Careington, First Dental Health PPO/EPO, GEHA/Connection Dental (includes BlueShield of CA and United HealthCare), Guardian, Metlife, Premier Access, and United Concordia (includes the Tricare Military Plan).
If your dental insurance carrier is not listed above, it is possible that our office may be an in-network provider with your plan since many insurance companies share dental networks. If you would like our help in verifying your benefits, please call our office.
